How to Apply For A Freelancer Visa and Permit in Dubai?

Getting a freelancer visa and permit in Dubai is easy. You just need to follow a few steps. Dubai has a special area called a “free zone” that gives out these permits.

1. Steps to Get a Freelancer Visa:

Let me tell you how to apply for the permit online in simple and detailed steps!

  1. Go to the GoFreelance website.
  2. Click on “Go Apply”.

Fill in the form and upload these documents:

  • A recent photo of you.

Note: If you have a sponsor like your spouse, parent, or employer, you need a “No Objection Certificate” from them. But you don’t need this for renewing your permit.

2. Follow Up On The Application:

After you send in your application online, you’ll get an email when it’s approved, which might take between 10 to 20 days. Then, you need to go to the business center in Dubai Knowledge Park, Dubai Media City, or Dubai Internet City. There, you’ll sign some papers and pay the fees yourself. After that, you’ll get your freelance permit for Dubai by email.

When you get your freelance permit, you’ll also get to use TECOM’s business service platform, AXS. This platform was made with the Dubai Development Authority (DDA). It helps you use different government or business services. On this platform, first, you apply for an establishment card, which costs extra.
